Save Austin's Cemeteries is creating a database to contact descendants of those interred at any of the five city cemeteries, in the event of theft, vandalism, or storm damage. The Charles and Betti Saunders Foundation ~Pat, Steve, Kate, and Ian Saunders~ for the $3,500.00 grant received June 2009 that will go towards the engineering design drawings for the Oakwood Cemetery Chapel's foundation repair.

National Trust for Historic Preservation for the $2,360.00 matching grant from the Fondren Endowed Fund received in October 2007 for conducting a building condition assessment and materials analysis on the Oakwood Cemetery Chapel.
